With the race incorporating the British Championships this year it was going to tougher than usual.
The pace as expected was furious from the start and the field was stung out in 1 line.
A small break escaped after 15 minutes including Sheffield’s Joey Walker, but not all the big teams were represented so it was chased down. This was followed by a counter break gradually forming which would go on to contest the finish.
The bunch was still riding hard behind the break and the gap never went above 30 seconds.
Unfortunately Jake and Joe suffered mechanical problems which ended their race.
Liam did a great ride, finishing 27th, ahead of many riders from the biggest teams.
Sheffield’s Joey Walker finished 8th.
It was another great edition of The Sheffield Hallam University Grand Prix supported by a fantastic Sheffield crowd.
