We have just returned from a successful trip over to Belgium. We stayed in Oudenaarde, home to many foreign riders over the years.
Riders:
Liam
Joe
Charlie
Jake
We raced 3 Kermesses.
Friday at Rumbeke 102km, went well with all the lads getting stuck in.
Jake made the winning move and finished 4th, and bagged some primes after some heated discussion amongst the leading riders…
Saturday we were at Roesalare-Bevern 104km.
Joe and Charlie were in the front group of 25.
Charlie suffered with cramp in the final 10km and so couldn’t sprint properly, but still finished 11th, Joe 13th. Liam 22nd.
Jake pulled out with 20km to go in order to save his legs for the next race.
Our last race was at Bekegem 114km.The circuit had a 50m cobbled section just before the finish straight.
Jake was on a mission today. After 20km Liam and Jake were in the lead group of 15.
With 5km to go the group was down to 12 riders. Jake had attacked several times to break the group up.Coming into the final cobbled corner a French rider went down and took Jake with him. Liam finished 5th, and Jake rolled in 9th.
We were pretty confident Jake would’ve won, but that’s bike racing.
