We travelled over to Ireland last week for the Galway Classic. This is a 150km race with 23km of gravel over 12 sectors.
James Mckay was keen to show his form, and was active in the lead group early in the race. James was amongst the instigators forcing the break away. Despite an crash on the first gravel sector, George along with Joe joined the lead group with James after 75km. James rejoined the lead group after a puncture. A second untimely puncture saw James unable to make it back to the lead group, he chased hard and salvaged 9th place, with Joe in 16th place, and George a little further back.
In a race where luck is required, we had nothing but bad luck, We’ll go back next year and make amends.
