Lincoln GP is the UKs most historic and prestigious one day race. 168km, 13 laps of a circuit which goes up the cobbled climb of Michealgate each lap.
The race as always had great crowd support, our lads in particular receiving loads of encouragement. It was a mixed day for us, with 3 of our riders race being impacted by crashes ahead of them and mechanical issues at points we were unable to service them.
David and James Hartley avoided all mishaps and after lots of positive riding made the front group of 25.
With 15km to go, David escaped in a group of 6. This group built a solid lead on the chase group behind, and at the foot of the the final climb David was there.
David was the youngest rider in the group, and had nothing left for the finish, but he hung on to finish 6th.
This is a great result for David and the team.David was also 1st U23 rider. James battled on to finish a respectable 23rd after animating the race all day.
Thank you to all those who cheered the lads on, the atmosphere is loved by the riders.
